It's 1981, Janet Ellis is live on Blue Peter, she's making something exciting out of toilet roll tubes and tissue paper (well, it was pre-internet). Later, as she drives herself and her daughter home, Ghost Town by The Specials comes on the radio. Innocently, they sing along. What she didn’t know, at the time, was that this would be a gateway moment into a world of serious crime in the young, impressionable mind of her daughter, Sophie. Twenty years later, in 2001, she narrowly escaped a prison sentence for crimes against music after penning Murder on the Dance Floor.
True story.
